Registration

Students may register in any offered class by visiting one of our three full-service locations: Venice Skills CenterEmerson Campus, and Venice High Campus. Students may also enroll in classes offered by Hamilton High School and University High School by visiting the office of the site offering the class.

A free orientation and a counseling session are required as part of the registration process. Orientation is at Venice Skills Center and is held each Thursday. Please call for more information: 310-664-5888.

Who May Enroll:

  1. Adults 18 years of age or older.
  2. Regular day high school students if they secure approval from their day high school counselor and parent or principal care taker.
  3. Veterans eligible for benefits under the GI Bill
  4. Others under 18 years of age may be eligible. See the adult school counselor for details.

Not all courses listed below may be offered at this time.

  1. Student Body ID Card is $2.00. Optional (strongly recommended), computerized color Photo ID $12.00.
  2. Fees will be collected in cash or credit card only.
  3. Students who cannot finish a course within the course term will pay again upon enrolling for the next term.

CTE Course Fee Exemptions

  1. Concurrently enrolled students referred by their high school counselor. Concurrent students are not exempt from book deposit fees.
  2. Alternative Education Work Center (AEWC) students.
  3. Minor students for whom a Pupil Accounting Report (PAR) is on file.

Refunds

Upon request a student may be issued a refund of fees when he or she drops the class before the first day of attendance or within seven (7) calendar days following the first day of possible attendance. However, a $20.00 drop fee will be assessed on a per course basis, except when an administrator has closed the class during the initial enrollment period.

The student MUST PRESENT THE BLUE REGISTRATION RECEIPT when requesting a refund. No refunds will be issued without it.

Cancellation of Classes

The administration reserves the right to cancel any class if there is insufficient funding provided by the State of California, if an insufficient number of students are enrolled or if the average attendance falls below the number required by the Los Angeles Board of Education.

School Policies

District policy explicitly prohibits sexual harassment of any kind.
Smoking or tobacco use of any kind on school grounds is prohibited by law.
