what are the many amazing gems at lust is our adult education program classes are designed to train an adult school students in a variety of Career and Technical skills so they can join Workforce this week's leusd Champion is Everett Martinez whose perseverance in pursuit of learning let was successful new career in network engineering I used to be retail covid hit and I lost my job I knew that I didn't want to go back to what I was doing Vince Gill singing with shopping network engineering The Cisco Academy so I decided to give it a shot and go back to school not only for myself but to also teach my kids dad was never too late to learn something new I was still in class straight up technology has reached out to mr. Garrison and ask for students who might be interested to help at a job site and gave my name next thing I know I have a contract in my email for a job offer ever came very interested in networking technology course when people walk in and see the equipment there like oh my goodness do I get to play with us and when I answer yes they get even more excited so he just took to it naturally he volunteered a lot of time he helped us a network the dental lab who's designing networks for the Dallas Cowboys football team lots of cool stuff almost Beyond where I could help him he did an internship made the transition to the new career in under a year it was the perfect two the perfect job applicants showed up every day studying and seceded which is kind of our goal I miss you already said I have this wonderful opportunity here for that I'm very appreciative and a lot of it comes from with the support in the knowledge that he gave me his it's a present only for me but for my family not only do I get to do something that I enjoy doing everyday I say it's like to hear my can say that we're proud of you you know you showed us something for one of the first times in my I'm very happy I made the choice to not only be able to go to Venice Skills Center but you have the opportunity to work it was straight up to now
