Happy Teachers Appreciation Week

Teachers Appreciation Week is a national celebration through the first full week of May. Join us in celebrating this important time of the year.

Teacher Appreciation Week has its roots in 1953, when First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt successfully urged Congress to establish a day honoring teachers, reportedly after receiving letters from a teacher in either Wisconsin or Arkansas.

Initially marked on March 7th, National Teacher Day was moved to May in 1984 by the National Parent Teacher Association, which expanded the recognition into a full week.
