English as a Second Language (ESL)

The English as a Second Language (ESL) program has seven class levels from literacy (the alphabet, letter sounds, and simple words) to advanced (professional and academic vocabulary, grammar, conversations, and writing). These courses are offered at all levels from Literacy through Advanced, and may sometimes contain multiple levels in one “forum” class. The curriculum integrates the study of English Language structure with selected topics in areas such as life skills, culture, and employment. Many different interactive classroom activities are used to develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing at all levels.
